Kates Playground Merchandise

My 18th birthday ...

was great, especially unforgettable and emotion-rich, very happy day. cards

A package full of love birthday

Exactly on my birthday I got a package full of love birthday cards received. Many thanks to all of you who have thought of me. And a special thanks to my mother and all who have helped me to organize a "package full of love birthday cards."

two hours I have read your birthday card and had or still have great pleasure in them.

I am feeling very well by so many people have to hear that they look forward to my

return. Maybe I will then the departure from Brazil, before I am afraid, a little easy on conscience that I will again start as welcome in Germany.

I also found it very beautiful with news from the texts you and your families who have been writing some of you to read.

nice to hear from you and get as much attention on my birthday to have.

on 08/04/2008 ...

'm like every day I was woken up at 6.20 but this time it's not my alarm clock but my phone has been ringing. "Bom Dia" (Good morning =) said Milena's cheerful voice, one of my best friends. She wanted to be the first to congratulate me and it has made it. I'm definitely very cheerful start to the day.

Carol was in school, my bestt friend in the new school lautstrak, "Happy Birthday" singing to me, so everyone knew that I had my birthday and everyone wanted to congratulate me.

After school, I made a few phone calls to Germany, which has made me even happier. I was on the phone until I start driving to the shopping center had. There I had a date with some exchange students in memory of Freddy's and my birthday. (Freddy is a replacement school from Denmark, who on the same day as my birthday.) We had fun together, and by 20h we went straight to my Rotary Club meeting woechendlichen. There I met all three of my family and after the meeting there were three birthday cakes. My cake had the German flag and Freddy Zuckergussueberzug the Danish flag. It was a happy Festlein.

When I got home at night, then there was the package with the cards. I phoned up at 0.30 even with friends and with Kaitlyn, my exchange sister from Canada and to read the card at 2.30.

have the whole day long I also get nice birthday SMS from friends that I could not see that day. And I received many nice messages from Germany via the Internet.

round it was a memorable day with lots of nice touches.

Ueberrachschung!!

I had a Ueberrachungsfeier! As I on Tuesday, my birthday, the Rotary meeting was the celebration of my friends have put on Wednesday night.

Carol has a date with me on Wednesday evening to the memory of my birthday going to the movies together. I thought then that I see with Carol, Hailey and Alex, from my class, does the movie would.

Carol's mother picked me up and Hailey and we went to Alexandra's residential area in order to "pick up". When we were there, it was said that Alexandra's mother would take us from here to the cinema. That was strange, but otherwise I was thinking there is nothing further on. After everyone had got out, Alex took my hand and said I should come only briefly with her because she wanted to introduce my young children from their residential area. It has opened a door and - "surprise" - all have begun "Happy Birthday" sing. Then all my friends, both from my new and my old school and exchange students. There was also a cake with 18 candles.

After I had unarmt aufgehoert crying and all, suddenly all made sense! Carol had phoned a day before my birthday and accepted as I have, she said: "Ahhh, Suni, aehhm .... I wanted to keep only a Plaeuschchen with you after I have learned so much ... Chow, Suni. Maybe I'll call later, still at it. "

I had not thought about it. Carol really wanted to talk to my host mother to her about the Ueberaschungsfeier to eraehlen.

I have drawn up to the last moment of suspicion. When the door of the small party room that they have hired, have opened up, I thought I would see little kids dancing ballet or something of the kind

It was very emotional for me, especially since my friends from both schools were there. Carol added with Milena and Mariana, from my old school, all with telephone and emails organized and Alexandra organized the room.

I have my friends from my old school a lot of Carol and Carol told a lot of them. The contact they have with each other, however, included himself.

So my 18th Warhaftig birthday is an unforgettable Erlebins.

Although I am now coming of age, but grown up I feel, honestly do not. I'm not.

And I am firmly against the child in me to lose even if never quite I finally grow up in time.

your Kind Regards

Porto Seguro

Hello!

Ok, that was the "every few days a report is" probably nothing! But better late than never.

In Porto Seguro came to the first vessels of the Portuguese in Brazil. is therefore one of the oldest cities of Porto Seguro, Brazil.

We were at a beautiful beach:

From a nearby hill we could see the beach.
In the photo you can see the tropical Kuestenwald, which is located in front of the stand.

group photo on the hill.
I am to see the far right - second row, wearing a hat.

In Porto Seguro, the Catholic Church set up a cross To leave here as on 26 celebriert April 1500 was the first mass in Brazil.

In cross Indians have sold two small chains, and when we asked her if we can take a picture with them, she replied:

"photo - a real (= 40 cents)

The Photographer of the trip was a real, and made of me and the kids a photo. The two little Indians were very cute.

The photographer has several exchange students with the Indians photos and given them each time a real. The little ones were quite cheerful: "Just a photo?" And "You are rich!"

Here the oldest Brazilian church

.

We have a idea of Capueira seen .

Capueira is a dance form that brought the African slaves to Brazil. It is less a dance than a improviesiertes spectacle of a fight. Therefore also say that someone is playing Capueira, not that someone dances Capueira. to fight

give the players. Good players swing their arms and legs as quickly rond of the opponent that you're afraid that they are injured, but the opponent quickly ducks away underneath. It is impressive.

Here we were at a beach party. the all day long we have danced Axé. Axé is a Brazilian style of music that is played very much to find Samba Carnival. Axé is often easier and Crazy winter, wirtzige texts.

For example:

I would not want to kiss your mouth ... Crazy winter

drink their water ? - No.

Since her thirsty - Jaa.

water, water, water, mineral water. ;)

And then there is a coordination of each song. dancing on the stage
dancers coordination before and people copy it. It is very funny, because almost none of it so hinbekommt how the dancers. I always look at what they dance and then I'll do it after, so I always hang after a bit.

On this beach I've also African ZÖF can make.

In the photo: Marlene (Germany) and me.

And here is the result.

Exercises For A Lacrosse Player

suenne_brazil @ 2008-02-12T15: 45:00

Hey,

Here I am again.

carnival is over. We have the partying. So I now have time to get back to writing reports.

I remember about every city in which I was to write a report. So there is every few days to give a new report.

What is it you know already, but again in summary:

80 Bussreiser exchange student have done for 27 days. It went up from Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza, the northeast coast of Brazil. - And I was there!

Jan 05 in Rio Preto on Bus station shortly before departure

I had to go almost at once terrified of the journey. Why? I was afraid to stand as an outsider. All exchange students from my town knew each other well and I had previously had very little contact with them, partly because I was the only one in the afternoon lessons. When I arrived in Brazil, it was been so easy to find friends, but with the exchange student I had little contact. And then when I did something with them, I had the feeling of being aussenvor because already all knew so well.

Jan 06 morning Belo Horizonte

- "Who are you? Where are you from? Where do you live here in Brazil "-

My fear was now blown away on what. In Belo Horizon, we took the Buss this trip. On the trip to Rio de Janeiro I met so many people know, whose names I had forgotten in the next moment. But since no one can remember 40 or 80 names on einemal, makes nothing at all.

It's a nice feeling to take to 40 exchange students and all are curious about the other and look forward to the upcoming joint tour.

06th evening to 10 Jannuary

Rio de Janeiro

Our hotel was right on the famous Coca Cabana, directly on the beach. But in the first three of four days we spent in Rio de Janeiro, we did not have the chance to put one foot on the beach in front of us. We had a full program every day and at night they did not let us to the beach - too dangerous. But the view is of course great.

I liked the city tour of Rio de Janeiro good, especially because of the ancient houses of the historic center. I have been missing from Luebeck, because in my city Rio Preto, there is not this one.

Katie Holton (USA) and I in front of the "Palácio Tiradentes"

I'm hochgegondelt course also the famous Sugar Loaf. It was unfortunately a bit cloudy, but the view in Rio de Janeiro was incredibly beautiful. On photos you can capture those moments even more difficult.

on the Sugar Loaf in the background right, the cables of the cable.

The next day we visited the Christ statue from the mountain Corcovada (about 600 m altitude) from their arms over Rio austr real.

The Christ statue is 32m + 8m high base and was opened 1931st

We drove the Corcovada up with a web, which lasted 15-20 min. But time passed quickly, because it went with a 3-man Samba group. Which provided a mood. They have played control various Samba, sung to and danced with some of our group in the narrow passage.

top we had an equally wonderful views of Rio as from the Sugar Loaf, only this time from a different angle.

Since the platform relative to the size of the statue is small, the photographer has had to lay on the floor on his back to the person who is photographed with the statue to get the picture.

If we had temporarily put on the floor, then we stayed there for a while - "Where are you now lie there already, you can also quickly make me a photo?", "Me too" ...

You had to watch up there already that one on it does not.

Later in the afternoon we drove to Sambodrium. In Sambodrium find the parades of the samba schools. It is an elongated stadium for Samba. If it the carnival of Rio de Janeiro in seeing Fehr see, then you can see the samba schools in the Sambodromo.

When Sambodromo could borrow costumes to take pictures. I borrowed some other costumes and then we danced in the Sambodromo, took pictures and filmed were we.

Megan (South Africa) and I, with costumes in the Sambodromo

We were also in Samba town. This is a plot that makes the city the samba schools', to build cars for the annual parade. Man fragrances of there to take pictures because the car has a surprise for his parade to the samba schools and are in competition.

In Samba town, I've learned a lot about the samba schools and parades. If you look at the big car look one is thinking, "How to finance the whole thing"

- First of all donations and sponsors, then the state and the city and there are many tourists in the parade of the individual Samba schools run along and pay for it, or buy their costumes from the samba school. And of course there for the school that wins a prize. All in all, the major samba schools about 10-15 mil. Reais, say about 3, from 5 to 5.5 mil. Euro per year.

If you look at the floats, we can ie d volunteers who build the car, only be described as true artists. Many people who live and work there in Falvelas (residential areas from slums).
I hope that I will go with one day in one of the samba parade in Rio.

group photo in Samba town on a trolley from the parade last year. I'm finding far left, with hat.

Here you can see what happens to the floats for Mardi Gras! There was a very nice car, the Krokodiel is not against them. Because it hurts one's soul when one remembers that they will be thrown away afterwards. Only the frame remains. After all, you can look forward to even more beautiful car of the next year!

Later we had in Rio a Samba dance lesson in one of the samba schools. This has a huge lot of fun. Imagine about 80 exchange students in a large classroom space in front, trying to dance the samba.

With so many sweating bodies was counterclaims not the air conditioning.

came Triefnassgeschwitzt sambatanzend but happy after we dance lessons at the hotel.

Here we visited the Maracana Soccer Stadium. We looked at the Umkleidekabienen the players I had imagined frankly more comfortable. But the 2010 World Cup should they be renovated.

on the famous beach of Ipanema, we were of course too. The beach was very crowded.

In the picture from left to right: Sofia (Mexico), I, Anrea (Mexico) and Rafael (Venezuela). In the foreground Will (USA) and Lilia (Mexico).

That's enough of Rio de Janeiro.

The next time I will talk about Porto Seguro

Greetings from Rio de Janeiro;.
